Ethical Forestry Leer es Vivir Award

This prestigious award, which translates as ‘Reading is Living’, takes a survey of professors, high achieving students and the students’ parents, asking them who they personally regard as model companies.

Participants mark the companies on different areas of their business, including management, technology, biodiversity and social responsibility. Once the surveys are completed, the National Program of Culture (Fundación Programa Nacional de Cultura) carries out a verification process to corroborate the information.

When the results were in, Ethical Forestry received the Diamond Award of Excellence – a testament to our hard work commercially, socially and environmentally. It’s fantastic the community recognises and appreciates our proactive approach to not only safeguarding the environment but also supporting our workers, their families and society. And because we’re also focused on achieving maximum profitability for our investors, we’re able to marry our environmental and social responsibilities with commercial success.

At the ceremony, which honours exceptional students and businesses, Ethical Forestry’s General Manager, Ignacio Rodriguez, accepted our award and made a brief presentation about Ethical Forestry and its operations. Also in attendance were our very own Robert Brown, Geri Brown, Marjorie Salazar and Loyal Clarke. With business owners, directors, students and their families present, we felt truly honoured to be recognised amongst some of Costa Rica’s finest.
