Death Policy

In the unfortunate event of resolving the estate of a deceased tree owner, we have provided the following guide to explain the steps and processes involved;

  • The estate can formally request the trees are harvested and the returns will be paid directly to the estate.
  • The investment can be bequeathed. Ethical Forestry will aid the estate in transferring the legal ownership of the trees to the new owner/s.
  • The estate can sell the investment to a third party of its choice, whereupon Ethical Forestry can assist with the transfer of ownership documents.

In all cases, the estate will be asked to provide the following information to ensure we follow ‘Know Your Customer’ best practise and to comply with The Data Protection Act:

  • Evidence of death.
  • Lawful rights to the deceased person’s trees.
  • Proof of identity/authority/representation for the estate.
  • Completed Transfer Request Form
