Growing trees on our sustainable plantations is by no means a simple process, but it’s one in which we are experts, making Ethical Forestry one of the UK's leading specialists in high-return timber investments.
Prior to any tree species being offered to our investors, it has to undergo a fastidious selection process by our Government Approved Forestry Engineers.
We only employ the finest forestry engineers (known as Regents) who actively consult at the highest level to the Costa Rican government, advising them on all aspects of sustainable forestry, reforestation and commercial timber processing.
Only when a species conforms to our following stringent criteria, is it offered as an investment.
- The species must grow quickly and be able to produce a high yield class of valuable wood on thinning harvests and the final harvest.
- The wood produced must be high quality and in high demand, therefore ensuring an exit route for investors.
- The species should have a reliable sales track record and historically achieve good prices when sold.
- Our plantations must offer the right growing conditions for the species.
- Decades of historical growth data is available.
