How Our Timber Investments Work
Our timber investments work in a very simple way: as Melina
trees grow, so does their value.
Growing trees on our plantations is by no means a simple process, but it’s one in which we are experts, making Ethical Forestry one of the leading specialists in high-return timber investments.
The range of Melina tree species we grow on our plantations have been fastidiously selected because of their fast growing nature and highly sought-after hardwood. To ensure our investors trees grow safely, we continually monitor them throughout their growth cycle – from seed to mature tree.
Our professional foresters live on our plantations, ensuring they are monitored twenty four hours a day, seven days a week.
In the unlikely event that a tree perishes during the first three years we replant a new one at no extra cost to the investor.
Melina trees grow rapidly because of tropical conditions. An eight month old Melina tree is, on average, over two meters tall. An eighteen month old Melina tree is, on average, over six meters tall, illustrating the remarkable growth rate of this species. By year three, Melina trees are firmly established & growing rapidly.
During the twelve year growth cycle, Melina trees require a series of thinning harvests to encourage the stronger trees to flourish - a natural selection process. The trees from these thinning harvests and the final harvest produces valuable timber, which is sold on your behalf and the proceeds sent to you.
Thinning harvests are an ongoing event and from year four you will receive payments.
If you select our high return 24 year Melina Accumulator™ as an individual investment or part of The Income & Wealth Generator™, we reinvest these proceeds into more trees.
