Investors are discovering they can do well by doing good – by putting their money in forests.

Timber is a good investment, especially in uncertain economic times. It offers steady, stable capital increases with predictably high returns, and as it is not linked to the stock market does not suffer from unpredictable fluctuations.
Demand for timber is projected to rise in line with the growth of the global population (as much as 56 per cent by 2050, according to the UN), with its insatiable appetite for wood for construction and energy. Unfortunately, the demand is driving illegal forestry operations worldwide with devastating effects.
To help relieve the pressure on the natural supply chain, Ethical Forestry has created sustainable plantations which offer an alternative, ecologically friendly supply source.
Ethical Forestry’s plantations are run on a ‘for profit’ basis, clearly focused on healthy and secure returns for investors. It owns all of its plantations outright, directly employs onsite management teams, notes the GPS coordinates of every tree, and owns its bespoke timber mills.
For every plantation that Ethical Forestry buys, it also purchases existing wild forests and places them within a forestry easement trust so they are preserved as carbon sinks and wildlife refuges.
